Carluccia is a fiercely proud farmer, who in her eighties is still producing most of the food needed by her family and its agritourism. The film follows Carla through a typical morning on her farm, as she discusses the loss of local food traditions and the plight of the small Italian farmer. Carla guides us through the process of curing olives, gathers and shells her butter beans, rolls fresh pasta, forages for wild greens, and cooks a traditional Calabrian farm meal over an open fire.
